Recipe Cost Guide
Since inflation, geographical locations, seasons, and so many other factors can greatly affect specific pricing of ingredients, we have switched to a system that helps to represent the relative range or cost of making that recipe. Note that this can be subjective depending on the general cost of living in different areas, availability of ingredients, etc. This system is similar to what you would see in online restaurant reviews. Here is a general interpretation of what the dollar signs mean:
$ (one dollar sign): This indicates the recipe is inexpensive and very budget-friendly. Ingredients are commonly found and inexpensive. Ideal for cooking on a tight budget.
$$ (two dollar signs): Represents a moderate price range. This might include ingredients that are a bit more specialized or higher quality than most budget-friendly options but still reasonably affordable.
$$$ (three dollar signs): Represents recipes on the more expensive side. It could include premium or organic ingredients or some specialty items not commonly stocked in a standard kitchen.
$$$$ (four dollar signs): This category includes the most expensive recipes with gourmet or luxury ingredients such as high-quality cuts of meat. Recipes in this category are typically for special occasions or to recreate fine dining experiences at home.
